SW FLORIDA For the past several months, a strong effort is being made here in SW Florida by CPO Don Vecoli,

USN Ret, a Veteran's service Officer for Charlotte County and a member of the FLCPOA to collect from not only

veterans but the civilian population enough money to send as many of the few remaining Southwest Florida

veterans of World War II by air transportation to Washington, DC to view their memorial. DON VECOLI This effort

goes by the name of "HONOR FLIGHT – WWII". The first flight will leave from Fort Myers on September 13th

returning early the next morning. As of August 21st, he has 59 Vets signed up to go. Funding for this effort is thru

donations from both the public and the veterans association here in Florida. The SW region "cumshawed" a

brand-spanking-new 2008, 1500 cc scooter and are raffling it off and will sell only a maximum of 1000 tickets at

$10.00 bucks a pop. The odds are great for winning! Don also hosted a PIG ROAST on Saturday September

16th at American Legion Post 103 in Punta Gorda. This event sold 250 tickets and a meal well worth the $7.50

with all profits going to the HONOR FLIGHT kitty.

So fellow chiefs – this is why we adopted our motto…. Si Aliquid Fiere Vultis, Rogage Principem!

If you want something done, call a Chief!
